The Fall
The big fall took place this spring in March out at Barnabas. Jason accidentally stepped on some boards and poor guy as our luck would have it- Broken. Jason was in lots of pain and had to be put on some pain meds which also didn't sit well with him. I thought for a while he was going to have permanent narcolepsy. But he eventually stopped sleeping so much and got to stop the meds. This will definitely go down as the Spring of surgeries. I had two surgeries on my veins, Smith on his big balls, and Jason on his foot. All the while keeping up with our daily activities, spring sports, hectic work schedules and the end of the school year. It was nuts. It is so challenging when you have to deal with illness and or sickness because life doesn't slow down for those things. But we survived and once again I am so grateful to dear friends and family who went above and beyond during this crazy spring to help us out. Jackson was very concerned about all the surgeries initially but by the fifth one in about six weeks his anal, over-worried personality seemed to realized that sometimes surgeries happen in life and everything is okay. Everything did turn out okay and what a blessing that Spring is behind us and we are all looking and feeling much better. My verse this spring that literally lept out of my bible one late crazy night was "The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold." Psalm 18:2
Thank you Lord that the spring of surgeries is behind us.
I love the cap! Poor guy. He did so great!
After surgery and Daddy held him during nap time.
Smith was ready to be done.

Jackson's Birthday Party
Jackson's seventh birthday party was a "Glasses Party." He insisted that it be a silly glasses themed party where everyone wore silly glasses. I was a little unsure of how I was going to pull it off but we managed. It turned out very cute. We had about 15 kids there. We invited his whole class and had several party stations set up. Jackson got super into each station and organizing and stocking each station with the supplies. The kids decorated their own pair of glasses, did an egg toss and relays, made pipe cleaner glasses, bounced in the bounce house, opened presents, had cake and ice cream and played on our playground and in the playhouse. Jackson got a special prize together and awarded it to the person who had the most creative pair of glasses. Afterwards Jackson's classmates left and we had a big barbaque with our family. It was a crazy day but lots of fun. Jason had Army drill that weekend so he made it home about mid-party but was there to cut the cake and sing happy birthday which is what Jackson swears is the offical mark to turning a year older.

Easter 2010
What a great Easter. We woke up and had our favorite fatty breakfast of eggs and cinnabons. We got our Easter baskets and did our annual Easter egg hunt in our living room. We then headed off to a great service at church. My dear friend Natalie (who is like a sister to me always helping me out no matter how busy she is) invited us over after church for a little breakfast and play time outside with their puppies. We had yummy french toast and then played outside and relaxed. We then came home and changed out of our grass stained clothes (cauz Mommy didn't think to pack play clothes so my kids were climbing trees and rolling around outside in their smocked clothing and suits-Nice!). We then had a major treat and went to Paul and Cyndy's house for dinner. We had my favorite and my kids favorite Honey Baked ham and this spread of delicious side dishes. I think the last time I had a meal that great was Christmas dinner! I told her we could have done pizza at their house and just sat around the table and visited and it would divine. But Cyndy is a great cook and pulled off a "Marth Stewart Easter dinner" complete with three desserts. Jackson took the left over bunny cake that Cyndy made for Easter dinner into Mr. Beckman's class this morning for their snack and he thought he was way cool. She did a little Easter Egg Hunt for the kids. She made some fiesta eggs for the kids and they had so much fun cracking the confetti on our heads outside as we visited. It was a divine meal. The Teas's and Natalie have both so been there for me this year with all the craziness of my work, having a new baby and Jason's frequent time away from our family this last year. They will never know what a God send they have been to me. I don't think I could have survived this last year without them. How grateful I am to them for loving my kids and wanting to spend time with them. It was a perfect way to spend Easter just being with all of them.
